1. Is it ever to late too send a thank you note?
No, it is never too late to send a thank you note to express your gratitude. Just because you may have over looked it in the first place doesn't mean you aren't thankful for the kind gesture! Go on and tell the person how much you appreciated their gift, thoughtful words, cup of coffee, phone call, etc. A thank you note is always welcomed even if it is a year later!

2. How long after my wedding do I have before I must send a thank you for the gifts?
According to most etiquette experts, a thank you note should be written within two weeks for all gifts received before the wedding and within one to three months for all gifts received after the wedding. The old saying that you have until your first anniversary is not true! But, that being said, if you are moving slowly, late is better than never.

3. Can Christmas and holiday cards be mailed out right after Thanksgiving or should we wait until December?
Yes, Christmas and holiday cards can be mailed after Thanksgiving. In the United States, the Christmas season often begins right after the Thanksgiving holiday. If you are uncertain whether the recipient celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah, or another religious faith or tradition, send a neutral card with a greeting of Happy Holidays, or Season's Greetings.

4. How far in advance do I send invitations?
This all depends on what type of event you are hosting. For recurring annual events, like a Christmas party, sending invitations a month in advance is fine. People already know to expect the event, so the invitation is just a matter of letting everyone know what this year’s exact date and time will be. For a formal dinner, birthday party or cocktail party, 4 to 6 weeks is appropriate. People will need enough notice to arrange their schedules.

5. Do I have to write a thank you note to everyone who attended my wedding even if they didn't bring me a gift or may have forgotten or could not afford it?
Absolutely! You are thanking them for sharing the celebration of your marriage with you and your spouse. Most guests have traveled far, possibly stayed in a hotel, spent money on gas, etc. A gift isn't the only reason one is lucky enough to receive a thank you note. Remember how happy you were to have them there with you that day and handwrite them a nice note thanking them for being with you on your special day, if they were kind and able to give a gift as well, include that in your message too!

6. How do you write a thank you note when you have received money or a gift card as a gift?
Begin by always personalizing and handwriting your note. Be enthusiastic and refer to the way you will use the gift of money or the gift card. Mentioning the amount is optional. Ex. "Thank you so much for such a generous gift. I have just begun planting a garden and will use the money to purchase flowers and new gardening tools".

7. What is proper etiquette on sending out birth announcements?
Etiquette states it is best to send your birth announcements as soon as possible, preferably about a month after the birth of your baby. If more than three months have passed since the baby's birth, you might consider including the birth announcement as an insert along with a holiday card (think Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July, etc.).

8. Is it ok to address the outside of envelopes with labels?
Traditional etiquette says that you should always hand-write the addresses on all invitations - including your wedding invitations! If you cannot afford a calligrapher, handwriting the addresses is still the proper way - it is more intimate and personal.
